Bryce Davis Park
About Bryce Davis Park
The Story Behind the Park
Back in 1988, Fayetteville welcomed its first park under the city's Park Land Dedication Ordinance - a modest 9.2-acre green space that would eventually become the Bryce Davis Park we know today. Named after its original owner and developer, Bryce Davis, this park has grown considerably over the years, evolving into a versatile community space that truly has something for everyone.
Places to Play and Explore
One of the park's notable features is its spacious 3-acre dog park where dogs can run off-leash. The area includes a pavilion, picnic tables, benches, and water fountains with dog bowl attachments. The thoughtful division into separate areas for large and small dogs means pups of all sizes can socialize safely.
For those interested in exercise, the park offers several options. A smooth paved multi-use trail winds through the grounds - excellent for your morning jog, afternoon stroll, or casual bike ride. Basketball enthusiasts can shoot some hoops at the park's basketball court, which often attracts friendly pickup games on nice days.
Kid-Friendly Fun
The playground is well-suited for families. With its soft faux-grass surface, parents can worry a little less about bumps and bruises. There's equipment suitable for both toddlers and older kids, including slides and climbing structures that keep young imaginations engaged for hours.
What makes this playground especially practical is its proximity to restrooms and picnic areas - no long treks across the park when nature calls or hunger strikes during playtime!
Natural Beauty
The landscape strikes a great balance between open grassy fields and clusters of mature trees that provide welcome shade on hot Arkansas summer days. These spaces naturally invite impromptu frisbee games, picnic blankets, or simply finding a quiet spot to read a book.
The park's pond adds a serene focal point and supports various fish species. Many visitors enjoy trying their luck fishing here, though you might have to share the space with the local geese that occasionally visit.
Comfort and Convenience
You'll come across all the essentials for a comfortable visit: clean restrooms, shaded picnic areas with tables, and grilling spots for those who want to cook up an outdoor feast. The park offers free WiFi for those who need to stay connected, and the dedicated parking lot makes coming and going hassle-free.
What's Coming Next
Looking ahead, plans are in the works to add a fishing pier to the pond area, which will make fishing more accessible and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
