Park Overview
Butler Park is a 6.7-acre neighborhood park located on North Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock, Arkansas. The park occupies level, tree-covered land adjacent to Grassy Flat Creek in the western part of the city.
History
The land for Butler Park was donated to the City of Little Rock by Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Butler. Improvements to the park began in 1968 with the construction of a ballfield and picnic areas.
Originally situated in a predominantly rural area, rapid urban development along Rodney Parham Road has since engulfed the park.
Recreational Facilities
Butler Park provides a variety of recreational facilities for visitors. The park features a playground for children, a basketball court, and tennis courts.
There is also a baseball/softball field available for sports enthusiasts. For those looking to relax, the park offers picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds.
Additional Amenities
While the park provides a green space for the community, it's worth noting that some visitors have described it as having limited facilities. There are three baskets available for disc golf practice.
