Located next to the Arkansas River, Murray Park is a sprawling 166-acre urban retreat in Little Rock. Born in 1976 thanks to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (with a price tag of about $2.25 million), this peaceful sanctuary sits just downstream from Murray Lock and Dam on land the Corps leases to the city. The riverside setting provides a natural escape where locals often come to unwind in the outdoors.

The storm claimed many trees in its path, but restoration efforts have already begun, with replanting initiatives helping the park slowly heal from this natural disaster.

Despite this setback, Murray Park remains an important gathering place for Little Rock residents. The park combines natural beauty with various recreational options along its riverside grounds.
