Manzanita Park
About Manzanita Park
Park Overview
Located in Anaheim, California, Manzanita Park covers 7.5 acres. Open since 1972, this community favorite sits west of Harbor Boulevard and just south of the Riverside Freeway. Recent renovations have refreshed the park's facilities. You'll often spot park rangers making their rounds, keeping an eye on things.
Playgrounds
Kids have their choice of two distinct playgrounds here. The first is a adventure zone featuring a climbing net, spinner, floating steps, and monkey bars for those little energy bundles. The second playground offers a tunnel and slides popular with younger children.
Both play areas have woodchip surfaces to cushion inevitable tumbles. Little ones can enjoy the baby bucket swings, while older kids gravitate toward the regular swings - a classic playground favorite that never goes out of style.
Sports Facilities
Manzanita offers several sports facilities. There's a well-maintained outdoor basketball court where pickup games often unfold, plus dedicated areas for football/soccer and volleyball to satisfy your competitive spirit.
The park also features an unlighted softball field - excellent for casual games or practice sessions. Furry family members can stretch their legs in the grassy areas too, however remember to bring your own waste bags for cleanup duty.
Skate Park
A highlight of Manzanita is its skate park, considered one of the better ones in Anaheim. With both a pool and a street course, it caters to various skating styles and skill levels.
The smooth concrete terrain welcomes skateboarders, roller skaters, and bikers alike. An added bonus? It's illuminated in the evenings until closing time, allowing for extended sessions when the sun goes down.
Picnic Areas
When hunger strikes, head to one of the covered picnic tables scattered across the park. The BBQ areas with built-in grills make Manzanita a natural choice for family gatherings or casual weekend cookouts.
Long walkways wind through open grassy spaces, great for post-meal strolls or simply finding a quiet spot to relax with a book or podcast.
Community Facilities
The park includes a youth center for community activities. If nature calls during your weekday visit, you can access restrooms located outside the Boys & Girls Club building behind the first playground.
Parking and Security
Getting to Manzanita is hassle-free with its ample parking lot. A tall structural fence encircles the park, adding an extra layer of security for visitors.
The park welcomes early birds and night owls alike, operating from 5AM to 10:30PM daily, with evening lighting for those post-sunset visits.
