About the Location
A Bit of History
Tucked between La Palma and Crescent avenues near North Magnolia Avenue in Anaheim, California, Peter Marshall Park spans five welcoming acres. Opening its gates in 1968, this green space pays tribute to Reverend Dr. Peter Marshall, the distinguished minister who served twice as Chaplain of the U.S. Senate.
Play Areas for the Little Ones
The recently renovated playgrounds thoughtfully cater to kids of all ages. With separate zones for the tiny tots and bigger kids, everyone has their own space to explore. Thanks to a recent makeover, the equipment is modern and in tip-top shape. Wood chips cushion the play areas for those inevitable tumbles, while both baby bucket swings and regular swings keep the kiddos entertained.
Plenty of benches circle the playground, so you can take a load off while keeping an eye on your little adventurers.
Room to Roam
Craving some open space? The park offers generous grassy areas. There's an unlighted softball field great for casual games or practice sessions when you're feeling sporty.
The sprawling open fields regularly host impromptu soccer, baseball, and football games. Dog parents also flock here to let their four-legged friends stretch their legs, with dog waste bags and receptacles conveniently placed throughout - because nobody likes to step in surprises.
The Practical Stuff
Planning a get-together? The park's picnic areas come equipped with several tables and at least one BBQ grill, making it just right for family gatherings or weekend cookouts.
When the California sun beats down, you'll appreciate the abundance of shade trees creating natural cooling zones across the park.
Arriving by car? No worries - two parking lots provide plenty of spaces so you won't have to circle the block.
Community Vibes
One thing you'll notice about Peter Marshall Park is how clean and well-maintained it is. This creates a safe, welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals coming back. The peaceful setting makes it an ideal escape for anyone needing a dose of outdoor tranquility.
Having a library right next door adds a nice touch. The park's scenic setting has even made it a popular backdrop for wedding photos.
