Park Overview
Bidwell Park is part of the larger Bidwell Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the United States. The One-Mile Recreation Area is situated within Lower Bidwell Park, just a few blocks from Downtown Chico and easily accessible from East 4th Street.
Sycamore Pool
The centerpiece of One-Mile Recreation Area is Sycamore Pool, a unique swimming experience built around Big Chico Creek. This concrete pool, constructed in the 1930s, spans approximately 3 acres and is shaded by its namesake sycamore trees.
The pool features five lifeguard stations and a roped-off section for children, making it a popular spot for families during warm weather.
