Baroni Park
About Baroni Park
Park Overview
Nestled in southeast Chico, California, Baroni Park spans a welcoming 7.3 acres at the corner of Baroni Drive and Cloud Court. This neighborhood park offers a mix of active recreation and peaceful green spaces. One thing that stands out? The place is consistently clean and well-maintained - always a plus when you're planning to spend time outdoors.
Recreational Facilities
The heart of Baroni Park is its spacious multi-use turf field, well-suited for whatever game you feel like playing. Whether you're organizing an impromptu soccer match or just need some room for your kids to burn off energy, this versatile grassy area works well.
Got kiddos? The park features a playground area that's particularly suited for children over 5 years old. Little ones can still have fun here too, but you'll want to keep a closer eye on them. It's a great spot for the youngsters to make friends while getting some exercise.
Basketball fans haven't been forgotten - the park's half-court setup is excellent for shooting some hoops or playing a casual pickup game with neighbors.
Leisure Amenities
If you're in the mood for something more relaxed, take a wander along the park's network of walking paths. With both paved and unpaved trails winding around the grounds, you can enjoy a peaceful stroll or a leisurely bike ride surrounded by greenery.
Feeling hungry after all that fresh air? The park offers a couple of picnic tables where you can enjoy a packed lunch or afternoon snack. Just note that there are only about two tables available, and they're not covered or part of a designated picnic area - so it's first come, first served.
One of the more unique features at Baroni is its practice disc golf baskets. If you've been curious about trying this increasingly popular sport, here's your chance to practice your throw without the pressure of a full course.
Park Policies and Facilities
While you can't reserve Baroni Park for private events, you can bring bounce houses under certain conditions. They need to be self-powered, used only during daylight hours (to protect the grass), and not part of any commercial activity.
A heads-up before you visit: the park doesn't have public restrooms, so plan accordingly. And while your four-legged friends are welcome to join you, remember to keep them on-leash at all times.
If you're exploring the unpaved trails, stay alert - local wildlife, including the occasional snake, has been known to make appearances in these more natural areas of the park.
