Veterans Park

Location and Overview

After a fire swept through, Veterans Park got a complete makeover in 2021, bringing fresh, modern facilities to the community. The park spans a generous 12 acres on East Palomar Street near Medical Center Drive in Chula Vista, with pretty spectacular panoramic views to the west and convenient proximity to the Chula Vista Veterans Home.

Recreational Facilities

Kids can burn off energy at the small but charming play structure that's meant for climbing and exploring. The park has vast grassy areas where you can toss a frisbee, have a picnic, or simply lounge with a good book.

For sports enthusiasts, Veterans Park features both a full-court and half-court basketball court where local pick-up games regularly take place, as well as baseball diamonds for weekend softball games.

Specialized Areas

The designated dog park allows your four-legged friends to run free off-leash, making new furry friends while getting some exercise. For the skaters among us, the park's skate park offers a place to practice those tricks you've been working on.

The on-site recreation center provides additional amenities and sometimes hosts community events. You'll also find all the practical necessities covered with ample parking lots and clean restrooms around the grounds.

Walk of Honor

What truly sets Veterans Park apart is the touching "Walk of Honor" - a pathway paved with bricks inscribed with veterans' names. This thoughtful memorial creates a space for reflection and gratitude for those who have served in our military, giving the park both its name and its heart.
