Park Overview
Newhall Community Park is a sprawling 126-acre green space located in Concord, California. The park is situated along Galindo Creek, east of Treat Boulevard, with access via Newhall Parkway south of Clayton Road or from Turtle Creek Road.
The landscape includes open grassy areas, wooded sections, and a large pond that attracts various waterfowl, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers.
Natural Features
Galindo Creek meanders through the park, creating a serene backdrop for visitors. Approximately 30 acres of the park are developed with recreational facilities, while the remaining area is preserved as open space.
The park provides a network of trails, including both gravel paths around the developed areas and dirt trails in the open space, offering opportunities for walking, jogging, and hiking.
Recreational Facilities
Newhall Community Park serves as a hub for community activities and sports. It features turfed athletic fields that are frequently used for soccer and other team sports.
The park is home to eight bocce courts operated by the Concord Bocce Federation, adding a unique recreational option for visitors.

For families, the park offers a playground and picnic areas, including a reservable group picnic area in a secluded creek-side setting surrounded by large oak trees.
Dog owners can enjoy a secure, fenced area called the Paw Patch, where dogs can exercise off-leash.
Historical Significance
The park also holds historical significance with a Vietnam War Memorial gracing a vista point, providing a place for reflection and remembrance.
