About the Park
Sports and Recreation
Willow Pass Community Park spans 40 acres north of Willow Pass Road at Olivera Road and Salvio Street in Concord, California. The park serves as the city's premier sports complex, offering a wide range of facilities for various activities.
The extensive grounds include five softball fields that host numerous tournaments and league play throughout the year. Four lighted tennis courts and fourteen lighted pickleball courts provide ample space for racquet sports enthusiasts.
A batting cage concession operates year-round, allowing baseball and softball players to practice their swings. The park also features walking trails for those who enjoy a casual stroll.
Facilities and Amenities
At the center of the park stands a large community center, providing a focal point for gatherings and events. The park includes picnic areas and an outdoor amphitheater, creating spaces for relaxation and community events.
In November 2023, the park introduced a new outdoor fitness area, the first of its kind in Concord. This 2,000-square-foot space is equipped with various KOMPAN brand equipment, including magnetic "bells" for weightlifting, stationary bikes with touch screens, suspension trainers, a multi-purpose net, and step/jump box platforms.
Each piece of equipment features a QR code linking to usage instructions, making it accessible for users of all experience levels.
Family Attractions
For families with young children, Pixieland, an amusement area located at the north end of the park, offers child-sized rides including a scale model train that circles a lake and travels through a tunnel.
A new crosswalk on Salvio Street, completed in late 2023, enhances safety and accessibility, connecting the north and south sides of the park.
