Gisler Park

A Touch of Costa Mesa History

Samuel Gisler, a Swiss immigrant, established his dairy farm on this land back in 1908, growing beets, barley, and alfalfa where a community park now stands in Costa Mesa. Gisler Park takes its name from him, and that agricultural history gives the place a quiet sense of roots that most neighborhood parks can't claim.

What You'll Find

Though modest at 4.1 acres, this local park packs in plenty of recreational options. The open grassy areas provide perfect spots for tossing a frisbee, having an impromptu soccer match, or simply sprawling out with a good book.

If you're bringing little ones along, they'll enjoy the small playground complete with slides and swings. The generous strips of grass offer ample room for kids to burn off energy or for families to enjoy a casual game of catch.

Come Prepared

Planning to make a day of it? You'll find picnic tables and barbecue facilities ready for your outdoor feast. For the more active visitors, there's a volleyball court where you can bump, set, and spike to your heart's content.

Note that there are no public restrooms available, so plan accordingly. You might also want to bring your own water bottle, as drinking fountains are limited within the grounds.
