About Estancia Park
Recreational Amenities
Situated in Costa Mesa, California, Estancia Park spreads across 21 acres of community space with a variety of amenities. Whether you're looking to break a sweat or just enjoy some fresh air, you'll find plenty of options here.
The open grassy areas are well-suited for throwing down a blanket for a picnic, catching up on that book you've been meaning to finish, or simply tossing a frisbee around. Soccer enthusiasts will appreciate the multiple soccer fields where both organized leagues and impromptu pickup games regularly take place. If you've got kids in tow, the playground features slides and swings, with separate areas for younger and older children.
Feeling like you need to stretch your legs? The park's layout is ideal for walking, and the hills add just enough challenge if you're looking to turn your stroll into more of a workout. Dog owners, you'll love the winding paths through the tree-lined landscape - your four-legged friends certainly will!
Historic Significance
A unique feature of this park is the Estancia Adobe, also known as the Diego Sepulveda Adobe, sitting right on the grounds. This historic structure offers a window into the area's past.
The Diego Sepulveda Adobe stands as one of Orange County's oldest surviving structures. Built between 1817 and 1823, it originally served as shelter for herdsmen working for Mission San Juan Capistrano. Talk about living history!
Today, the adobe functions as a museum where you can connect with the early days of Costa Mesa and Orange County. It's a quiet reminder of the rich history beneath our feet as we play and relax in this modern community space.
Park Layout and Facilities
Don't let first impressions fool you - Estancia Park is bigger than it might initially seem, with distinct areas catering to different activities. Near one entrance you'll come across the Balearic Community Center with convenient parking if you're heading to the playground or soccer fields.
Heading up the hill? Another parking lot at the top gives you access to an additional large grassy field. When nature calls, you'll be pleased to know there are clean restroom facilities that are well-maintained throughout the park.
Picnic areas with benches dot the landscape, making this a go-to spot for family gatherings or community hangouts. The park regularly comes alive with community events - from cook-offs to tournaments - bringing neighbors together during the year.

One of the unexpected bonuses of spending time here is the panoramic view of nearby Fairview Park. This vantage point lets you take in the natural beauty of the area in one sweeping glance.
