Historical Significance

Tucked away in Downey is Crawford Park, a green space with roots as deep as the city itself. It bears the name of Matson Duke Crawford, a pioneering attorney and judge who worked alongside John Gately Downey to establish the community we know today. While many streets throughout Downey have changed their names over the decades, this park has kept its original identity - a little piece of consistency in an ever-changing urban landscape.
