Rix Park
About Rix Park
A Peaceful Green Retreat
Tucked away on Everglades Park Drive in Fremont, Rix Park spans nearly 10 acres of tranquil green space that feels like a neighborhood secret. The moment you step in, you're greeted by towering eucalyptus trees that create dappled shade and a calm atmosphere good for clearing your mind during a leisurely stroll.
Play Area That Blends With Nature
Instead of the typical bright plastic playground structures, Rix Park features a natural-themed playscape in earthy browns and greens that harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding landscape. Kids can let their imagination run wild on this thoughtfully designed play structure that offers plenty of climbing and exploration opportunities.
Little adventurers have their pick of multiple slides ranging from gentle slopes to more thrilling options. The playground also boasts a fun spinner that's always a hit and an impressive spider web structure that challenges even the most enthusiastic climbers. Whether you have toddlers or older kids, there's something here to keep them engaged.
Hoops and More
The park recently got an upgrade in 2023, transforming its basketball facilities into something special. Gone is the old court, replaced by two new back-to-back half-size courts complete with basketball standards near Seneca Park Loop. These courts have quickly become a neighborhood hotspot for casual games and practice sessions.
Room to Roam
One of the park's best features is its open field with gently rolling hills and plenty of grassy space. It's excellent for throwing a frisbee, playing catch, or simply spreading out a blanket to enjoy the California sunshine. Winding paths crisscross the park, making it ideal for a quick morning jog or an evening constitutional.
Rix Park strikes that perfect balance between active and relaxed spaces. While there's plenty of action at the playground and basketball courts, you'll also find open lawn areas where you can simply lie back and watch the clouds drift by. There are benches scattered throughout for when you need a rest, but you'll want to note that there aren't any picnic tables or restrooms available.
For the Four-Legged Friends
Dog owners, rejoice! Rix Park is wonderfully dog-friendly with generous space for walking your furry companions away from the playground areas. The park accommodates both on-leash walks and off-leash play in designated areas, making it a favorite gathering spot for local pups and their humans who have been coming here faithfully for years.
