Manning Park

Historical Significance

Named after Ed Manning, who served as Huntington Beach's mayor in 1909, 1920, and 1922, the park provides a variety of recreational facilities for local residents.

Manning Park is a 2.5-acre neighborhood park located in Huntington Beach, California. Situated on a slight incline, the park offers visitors a pleasant outdoor space within an urban setting.

It is bounded by major streets including Beach Boulevard, Atlanta Avenue, Indianapolis Avenue, and Lake Street, and is conveniently located close to Main Street while remaining away from major traffic.

Recreational Amenities

The park features a playground area with equipment suitable for children, making it an ideal spot for families with young kids to spend time outdoors. The playground includes a large sand area with rubber matting at the landings, two infant swings and two full-sized swings, and a play structure designed for children 5-12 years old with slides, climbing ladders, stairs, and a fireman pole.

Manning Park includes both active and passive recreation areas. The large grass area offers open space for various activities including frisbee, while the basketball court provides an opportunity for sports enthusiasts to engage in games.

Picnic tables and benches are available for those who wish to enjoy outdoor meals or gatherings. The park has two benches and one table for visitors to use.

The park is ideal for dog owners, with its open grassy areas perfect for pets to play and exercise. Dog waste bag dispensers are available on site, though visitors should note there are no water fountains for pets or people.

Street parking is available for visitors arriving by car, with additional parking in a small lot. A trail or path runs through the park for those who enjoy walking.
