Rancho Jurupa Regional Sports Park
About Rancho Jurupa Regional Sports Park
Where Sports Meet Fun
Opened in April 2012, this 32-acre recreational area blends natural beauty with athletic functionality. If you're a soccer enthusiast or just looking for some outdoor activity, the mix of natural and synthetic turf fields has something for everyone.
The sports park features four large synthetic turf fields (each measuring 70x100 yards) and two natural turf fields measuring 50x100 yards. For smaller games or practices, there are nine additional natural turf areas ready for action. What's particularly nice is that the six largest fields come with energy-efficient lighting systems that minimize light pollution - ideal for those evening games when the day's heat has subsided. Both youth and adult leagues seem to appreciate the well-maintained grounds, which host everything from soccer matches to flag football games.
Take a Break Between Games
Between the synthetic and natural fields lies a thoughtfully designed plaza area. This central hub includes picnic shelters where you can catch your breath, clean restrooms, a snack bar for when hunger strikes, and two playgrounds that keep the little ones entertained.
Throughout the walkways, you'll discover gazebos and picnic tables offering welcome shade on sunny California days. While the playgrounds aren't massive, they have enough jungle gyms and swings to keep younger children happy while older siblings are scoring goals.
A gentle walking path circles the entire facility - ideal for parents who want to get some steps in during practice or anyone looking to enjoy the mountain views. The concrete pathways connecting the various fields make navigating this large park surprisingly easy, even with sports gear in tow.
Ready for Big Events
The park is well-prepared for crowds with over 400 regular parking spots, 17 handicap-accessible spaces, and even 5 RV parking stalls with full hookups for those traveling tournaments. If you're planning to attend a major event, though, arriving early is a good idea as parking can fill up quickly.
For gatherings of all sizes, the park offers several picnic shelters including six cozy 10'x10' options, one large 65'x30' shelter, and a unique 27' hexagon shelter. These make great meeting points for teams or family picnics.
Practical Matters
Restrooms are available throughout the park, however they can get busy during tournaments. During larger events, portable toilets are added to handle the crowds.
The snack bar provides basic refreshments and food options during events, but the selection isn't extensive. Many regulars bring their own coolers with snacks and drinks, especially for all-day tournaments.
One thing to note: pets are not allowed in the park. There are signs at the entrance reminding visitors of this rule, however there is a dog park about two miles away if your four-legged friend needs some exercise too.
Beyond Fields
Rancho Jurupa Regional Sports Park brings people together for both organized sports and casual recreation. The year-round availability of well-lit fields allows for outdoor activities even after sunset.
The blend of athletic fields, family-friendly areas, and practical amenities, plus the mountain views, make this one of Jurupa Valley's versatile outdoor spaces.
