Recreational Offerings

Around the year 2000, the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department staff further enhanced the park's offerings by adding a T-ball baseball field. This addition expanded the recreational opportunities available to local residents, particularly for youth sports activities.

Historical Background

The park's development history dates back to 1951 when it was deeded to the City of Long Beach by joint owners, the Home Investment Company and the Bixby Land Company.

The City Council approved a development plan for the park on December 21, 1954, initiating its transformation into a public recreational space.
