Fresh New Look
85th Avenue Mini Park has gotten a serious upgrade as part of Oakland's initiative to revitalize parks in historically underserved neighborhoods. This intimate space is one of nine parks that received a makeover through a $5 million citywide beautification project wrapped up in February 2025.
The play area has been newly resurfaced, making it safer for children. New park furniture has been added where you can relax and take in the surroundings.
What You'll Find Here
The park's barbecue pit is available for gatherings and outdoor grilling. No need to pack extra water bottles either - a new drinking fountain has been installed to keep everyone hydrated while reducing plastic waste.
Fresh landscaping and an upgraded irrigation system help maintain the greenery in the park.
Keeping You Safe
Safety was clearly a priority in this renovation. The addition of new lighting means you can feel more secure even as the day winds down.
Improved fencing and gates now surround the park, providing an extra layer of security. And those pesky litter problems? They've tackled that too with animal-proof trash receptacles that help keep the park clean and discourage illegal dumping that used to plague the area.
