Set in Rancho Cucamonga, Hermosa Park spreads across 9 acres of community space that's become a local favorite for both recreation and relaxation.

The park has two distinct playgrounds that cater to different age groups. Older kids can enjoy the larger playground with its more challenging equipment - including a long tunnel, rope wall, rock climbing wall, and various jungle gym elements.

Little ones aren't left out either! A dedicated smaller playground gives toddlers and younger children their own space to explore, complete with slides, a step ladder, bridge, tunnel, spring riders, and swings. Both areas are well-maintained, making them popular spots for families.

Sports Areas

Baseball enthusiasts will appreciate the park's baseball field, which is meant for younger players since it doesn't have outfield fencing. Each dugout comes equipped with a bench, however you'll need to bring your own shade on sunnier days. Thankfully, the surrounding trees offer some natural cover for both players and spectators.

In the southern section of Hermosa Park, you'll come across a generous grassy open field that's regularly transformed into an impromptu soccer pitch. It's equally welcoming for football games, frisbee sessions, or even kite flying - especially if you catch those perfect late afternoon breezes.

Walking and Exercise Options

If you're looking to get your steps in, the 0.38-mile sidewalk that circles the entire park connects all its features while providing a smooth, convenient walking path. It's a popular route for morning joggers, runners, and locals walking their four-legged friends.

Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the exercise trail that features various equipment stations strategically placed along the sidewalks. From monkey bars to balance beams and other fitness installations, these additions make it easy to mix up your workout routine while enjoying the fresh air.

Picnic and Social Areas

Hermosa Park offers several outdoor dining options. You can find multiple seating areas across the grounds, including two covered picnic shelters available for reservation. Don't worry if you haven't planned ahead - additional tables operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Many picnic spots come equipped with charcoal BBQ grills, making this park a natural choice for birthday celebrations and family get-togethers. The shaded areas with clean tables provide comfortable spaces to relax and enjoy a meal while the kids play nearby.

Amenities and Parking

You'll discover clean public restrooms conveniently located in the center of the park - a practical touch that's always appreciated during longer visits. These facilities are well-maintained and regularly stocked.

Staying hydrated is easy with drinking fountains scattered across the grounds, ready to refresh visitors of all ages.

Feel free to bring your furry friends along, as the park is dog-friendly with plenty of walking paths to explore together. Just remember to bring your own waste bags, as the dispensers sometimes run empty.

For parking, the main lot off Hamilton Street offers 43 regular spots and 2 handicapped spaces. When things get busy (and they often do on beautiful weekends), you can find overflow parking at the adjacent Deer Canyon Elementary School or along Hamilton Street.

Duck Pond

One of the park's most charming features is its peaceful duck pond. This tranquil water feature attracts various waterfowl and provides a serene spot to sit, reflect, and maybe even unplug from technology for a while. It's a fantastic place to end your visit on a calm note.
