About the Location

Park Overview

Golden Oak Park is a 5-acre public park located in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Situated at 9345 Golden Oak Road, this community park offers a variety of recreational facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy. The park is known for its clean environment, beautiful landscaping, and friendly atmosphere.

Sports Facilities

The park features a well-maintained baseball field suitable for youth games and practice, as it does not have an outfield fence. Many visitors specifically come to enjoy baseball activities at this field, which is consistently well-kept.

Adjacent to the baseball field is a full-sized basketball court, complete with mid-court lines, three-point lines, and free-throw lines.

Playground Areas

For younger visitors, Golden Oak Park provides two playground areas. The larger playground is designed for older children and includes features such as slides, a fireman pole, a bridge, and a zipline. The smaller playground, tailored for younger children, offers slides, a tube slide, spring riders, and other age-appropriate equipment.

Both playgrounds have a mixed surface of sand and rubber. A notable benefit of the playground layout is that children remain visible from almost anywhere in the park, making supervision easier for parents and caregivers.

Open Space

The park boasts a large open grassy area, covering approximately half of its total acreage. This versatile space can be used for various activities such as soccer, football, frisbee, or general play and relaxation. The well-maintained green field is particularly popular for dog walking, though there is no designated dog park area, so visitors should bring their own bags for pet waste.

The trees and bushes throughout the park provide nice shade areas and create natural spaces for children and pets to play hide and seek.

Picnic Areas

Picnic facilities are available, including eight tables, four of which are located under shelters. While the shelters provide some shade, it's worth noting that they may not offer extensive coverage. The picnic areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are conveniently located near the restrooms.

Barbecue grills are also provided near the picnic areas for visitors' use, making this an ideal spot for family gatherings and social events.

Amenities and Views

The park is equipped with lighting for nighttime use and has 24-hour restrooms available to visitors. Visitors can enjoy views of the San Gabriel Mountains and Mount Baldy from the park, which can be particularly scenic when there's snow on the peaks.

The park's peaceful atmosphere makes it a great place to relax under shade trees and enjoy the outdoors in a quiet setting.

Parking

Parking is available in a dedicated lot off Golden Oak Road, offering 27 regular spots and 3 handicapped spaces. If the lot is full, additional parking can be found on nearby residential streets.
