Historic Significance

Set in the heart of Sacramento, Capitol Park has been a green sanctuary since 1860. This 40-acre park wraps around the California State Capitol building, stretching across 12 city blocks between L and N Streets to the north and south, and 10th and 15th Streets to the west and east.

Botanical Diversity

As you explore, you'll encounter numerous monuments that tell pieces of California's story. The Civil War Memorial Grove offers a tangible connection to history - these trees were planted in 1897 using saplings from actual battlefields.
