The park cleverly incorporates urban elements like railings, stairs, banks, and ledges - offering many features skaters enjoy. It's considered one of San Diego's better skateparks, appealing to both newcomers and experienced skaters.

Sports and Leisure Areas

Not into skating? No problem! The park offers plenty of other ways to get your heart pumping. There's a well-maintained softball field for those weekend games, an outdoor multipurpose basketball court for shooting hoops, and a popular soccer field where local teams regularly face off.

In 2020, the park welcomed a fantastic addition: the Park De La Cruz Community Center. This 33,000-square-foot facility houses various activities and serves the neighborhood.

Inside, you'll discover a public gymnasium, fitness room, recreation room, and multi-purpose rooms that host a variety of community activities. What makes this center special is its commitment to inclusivity through the City of San Diego's Therapeutic Recreation and AgeWell Services programs.

The center provides a welcoming space for residents with special needs and older adults. There's always something happening - classes designed specifically for seniors, activities that bring people together, and programs that help everyone feel included, regardless of ability.

Accessibility Features

Park De La Cruz features good accessibility throughout the grounds. The park was designed with inclusivity in mind. You'll notice ADA-compliant features throughout, including companion bench seating and observation areas around the skate park.
