About the Location
Indigenous Heritage
The park is named after Antonio Balermino, an Ohlone native born in 1782 who owned and managed a large rancho that once extended through present-day central and west San Jose.
The park's design incorporates elements that pay homage to the area's indigenous history. A notable feature is the detailed pavement pattern that recalls the traditional baskets woven by the Ohlone/Muwekma native people of the Bay Area, visually defining the park's aesthetic.
