About Fremont Park
A Green Getaway in the City
Situated in Santa Clara, California, Fremont Park offers a peaceful seven-acre escape from the daily grind. It's a place where you can take a break from the bustle of city life for an afternoon.
What makes this park special is its thoughtful design - created to serve both seniors and families in the historic Old Quad neighborhood. This dual-purpose approach means there's something here for everyone, whether you're 8 or 80.
What You'll Find Here
The 45,000 square foot Santa Clara Senior Center anchors one section of the park, where local seniors gather for activities and events. It brings a multi-generational element to the park.
If you're planning a casual get-together, you'll appreciate the well-kept picnic areas with their round tables. There's also a modest BBQ zone with a grill pit - nothing fancy, but meant for cooking up some weekend burgers with friends or family.
The small but charming rose garden adds a touch of color and fragrance to your visit. While it's not the sprawling rose collections you might find elsewhere, there's something intimate about this little floral corner that fits the park's relaxed character.

Getting Active
Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the exercise course that lets you work out while enjoying fresh air and greenery. The walking/running path circling the park stretches about 3.5 kilometers - ideal for your morning jog or evening stroll.
The kids' area features a recently updated playground with separate structures for different age groups - one for the 2-5 crowd and another for children 6-12. There are bucket swings for little ones, and sand areas with dinosaur fossil dig sites for imaginative play. The dragon and unicorn statues that kids can decorate with chalk are always a hit - expect to spend some time here if you're bringing children along.
The generous open grass areas invite impromptu games of catch, drone flying, Frisbee tossing, or soccer. It's this flexible space that makes the park work so well for different activities - or just lounging on a blanket with a good book.
Good to Know
You'll find off-street parking available, plus additional street parking throughout the neighborhood if the lot is full.
The park is consistently clean and well-maintained, creating a safe space that's become a favorite spot for playdates. Its calm atmosphere draws people from all over Santa Clara looking for a quiet moment outdoors.
Note that there aren't public restrooms in the park itself, but you might find facilities available at the Senior Center when it's open. And while your four-legged friends are welcome, they need to stay leashed at all times.
