About the Location

History and Location

Situated in a cozy residential area of Santa Clara, California, Steve Carli Park spans 3 acres of community space right next to Haman Elementary School. You'll discover this local favorite on Los Padres Boulevard, easy to spot and access for locals and visitors alike.

The park has a heartwarming backstory - once known as Sunnybrae Park, it was renamed in 1973 to honor a young boy who was passionately involved with the Westside Little League program.

Recreational Facilities

Baseball enthusiasts will feel right at home here, as the park features three little league fields that serve as the proud home grounds of Westside Little League. These diamonds have seen many young athletes develop their skills and love for baseball over the years.

Not into baseball? The park also has a full-size basketball court where you can shoot some hoops or join a pickup game. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the open turf areas provide plenty of space to toss a frisbee, have a picnic, or simply lounge on the grass with a good book.

Children's Area

Children will enjoy Steve Carli Park's playground area. The colorful play structures include fun slides and a variety of swings - from baby swings to regular ones, and even special parent-child swings that let adults and kids enjoy the fun together.

The play equipment includes steps for children to practice climbing in a safe environment. If your kids need a change of scenery, head over to the newer playground on the other side of the baseball field for even more play options.

Amenities

When nature calls, you'll appreciate the clean restroom facilities available on-site. Planning a family gathering or a small community event? Take advantage of the picnic areas and grilling spots scattered around the park - meant for a weekend cookout or birthday celebration.

Accessibility

Steve Carli Park aims to be welcoming to everyone, with wheelchair-accessible paths covering much of the grounds. Its location right by Haman Elementary School makes it a natural gathering spot for families and students after the school bell rings.

The park maintains a safe, clean environment throughout the day and evening hours. While you can enjoy walking on the paved paths that wind through the park, do note that they don't form a complete circuit around the entire space - so you might need to retrace your steps on longer walks.
