Positioned in Simi Valley's eastside near Royal Ave & Sycamore Ave, Vista del Arroyo Park is a peaceful 2.9-acre space in a quiet residential area. If you've ever heard locals talking about the "Blue Park," this is the spot they're referring to. With its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful views of the surrounding Simi hills, it's an ideal place to catch your breath and enjoy a moment of calm.

History and Development

This charming green space came to life in the late 1990s as part of the Madison County housing project. What makes this park special is its thoughtful landscaping that beautifully balances water conservation with visual appeal. You'll come across a variety of drought-tolerant and native plants throughout the grounds - keep an eye out for the pomegranate trees, fragrant lavender, and the Mexican palo verde (sometimes called horse bean) that add vibrant splashes of color to the landscape.

One of our favorite things about Vista del Arroyo is the personal touch found in its colorful mosaic tiles that adorn various structures around the park. There's something heartwarming about knowing that many of these tiles were created by local children before being incorporated into the design. Take a moment to appreciate these little works of art, especially along the wall between the walkway and playground.

The park also offers some truly stunning views of the surrounding hills. There's something magical about sitting on a bench and taking in the panorama of Simi Valley against the hillside backdrop - it's a simple pleasure that never gets old.

Note that while restrooms are accessible nearby, they're not within the main park area. You'll need to head beyond the end of the cul-de-sac and through the equestrian center driveway on the right to find them.
