About the Location
Freshly Renovated Play Spaces
If you're looking for somewhere new to take the kids, you're in luck! As of July 2024, Terrace Park has gotten a serious facelift, with the playground equipment receiving the star treatment.
The park has two separate playgrounds that cater to different stages of childhood. There's a dedicated space for the 2-5 year old crowd, great for toddlers taking their first playground adventures, and another specially designed for the 5-12 year olds who need more challenging equipment. It's nice not having to worry about little ones getting overwhelmed by bigger kids' play structures.
Where the Money Came From
You might wonder how these improvements happened. The park's transformation was funded through a combination of California's Proposition 68 and Vallejo's Measure K, along with money from the Greater Vallejo Recreation District's (GVRD) Capital Improvement budget.
It's refreshing to see tax dollars actually going toward something that makes a tangible difference in the community.
What You'll Find Here
Terrace Park isn't just about the shiny new playgrounds. The space offers a nice mix of things to do. There are open turfed areas where kids can run wild or where you might spread out a blanket for some downtime.
If you're into sports, you'll appreciate the ball field that's suitable for casual games or more organized activities.
Planning to make a day of it? The park includes several picnic tables and BBQ facilities - fantastic for anything from a simple family lunch to a weekend gathering with friends. Nothing beats eating outdoors when the weather's nice.
Getting There
One practical benefit of Terrace Park is its off-street parking area. You won't have to circle the block looking for a spot or worry about parking restrictions - just pull in and start enjoying your day at the park.
