A Glimpse of Local History

Named after Horace Shelby - Colorado Springs' first Black police officer and one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Police Department back in 1887 - this 4.7-acre local park honors an important figure in the city's history.

The park is a well-kept little oasis maintained by the Colorado Springs Parks Department, offering a peaceful retreat for nearby residents.

Play & Recreation Spaces

Kids will love the playground area that thoughtfully caters to multiple age groups. Little ones can enjoy slides and an adorable excavator-like digger perfectly sized for tiny hands and big imaginations.

For the more active crowd, there's a basketball court where you can shoot some hoops and a small skate area to practice your tricks and skills. Nothing beats the sound of skateboards and basketballs on a sunny afternoon!
