Stetson Park

Location and Setting

Situated in the northeastern corner of Colorado Springs, Stetson Park is a 6.9-acre neighborhood space in the Stetson Hills community. Positioned just north of Stetson Elementary School, the park has mountain views typical of Colorado Springs. Mature trees dot the landscape, providing welcome shade during those sunny Colorado afternoons.

Walking Trails

If you're looking for a quick outdoor escape, the park features a convenient sidewalk loop that stretches about 0.5 miles. Starting from the east side parking area, it circles the baseball field before returning you to where you began - well-suited for a quick lunchtime walk or an easy jog. Some locals have gotten creative, combining these paths with surrounding areas to create longer 2.5-mile routes when they're in the mood for more extensive exercise.

Sports Options

The park doesn't skimp on athletic facilities. A well-maintained baseball field and soccer field occupy much of the space, making this a weekend hub for both organized leagues and impromptu family games. The flat, open terrain works particularly well for kids' sports activities. Beyond ball sports, you'll find an in-line skate and basketball court that adds variety to the recreational mix.

Kid-Friendly Areas

Younger visitors gravitate toward the medium-sized playground area, a popular spot for neighborhood children to burn energy and make friends. One standout feature that seems to captivate the little ones is a small maze - simple but somehow endlessly entertaining. Nearby, a small skateboard park area gives older kids and teens a dedicated space to practice their tricks.

Facilities Available

Within the park, you can find several park benches where you can take a moment to rest and multiple picnic tables great for outdoor lunches or small gatherings. For restrooms, the park offers only portable toilets rather than permanent facilities. Be aware that these aren't always in the best condition. Fortunately, the surrounding area has shops and stores with restrooms if you're in a pinch.

Bringing Pets

Despite signs stating that pets aren't allowed, you'll regularly see locals walking their dogs here - it's become something of an unofficial dog-walking spot. If you do bring your four-legged friend, please keep them leashed and clean up after them. The community has expressed concerns about off-leash dogs and pet waste, so being a responsible pet owner helps ensure everyone can enjoy this shared space.
