Huston Lake Park

Scenic Features

The park spans approximately 33.7 acres and features a serene lake as its centerpiece. Originally the site of a swampland called "Frenchie's Lake," it was named after one of the area's original landowners, Nathaniel K. Huston.

Huston Lake Park is known for its tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful retreat from the urban environment. The lake itself is a focal point for relaxation and serves as a habitat for local wildlife, particularly various bird species.

Recreational Opportunities

A paved walking and biking path encircles the lake, providing a scenic route for exercise and leisure. The park's landscape includes lush greenery and open spaces, making it an ideal spot for picnics and outdoor activities.

Fishing is permitted in the lake, adding to the park's recreational appeal. The park serves as a community gathering space, hosting various events and activities throughout the year.

Recent Improvements

The park has undergone recent improvements to enhance its facilities and accessibility. In 2018, the tennis and pickleball courts were renovated.

As of 2025, further upgrades are in progress, including the redesign of the playground and replacement of the asphalt walking loop on the west side of the park. These improvements aim to make the park more inclusive and enjoyable for all visitors.
