About the Location
Denver's Favorite Sledding Hill
The highlight of Robinson Park is its north-facing hill, which is very popular among Denver's winter enthusiasts. When snow covers the city, this hill becomes an excellent sledding spot.
The steep slope provides enough excitement to get your heart racing, while the gentle flattening at the bottom helps slow you down safely. Many Denver families have enjoyed winter days and snow adventures on this hill over the years.
Year-Round Outdoor Fun
Once the snow melts, Robinson Park offers plenty of warm-weather activities. The expansive grassy fields become a fantastic spot for kicking around a soccer ball or practicing your lacrosse skills without the formality of a scheduled field rental.
The playground, which was completely renovated in 2021, is popular with children. It features separate areas for younger children (ages 2-5) and older kids (5-12), with equipment appropriate for each age group.
The renovation added an embankment slide built into the natural landscape, shade sails for sunny days, and musical instruments for kids to play with outdoors. Families with younger children especially appreciate the playground's quality swings that kids often don't want to leave.
A Slice of Denver History
When you visit Robinson Park, you're walking on ground that tells a story of Denver's development. This land once belonged to the Robinson Brick Company, one of Colorado's most significant brick manufacturers.
The park officially became public space on July 4, 1941, after the Robinson family donated the land to Denver - a historical tidbit that adds depth to this local space.
Neighborhood Green Space
Covering 7.6 acres in Denver's Hilltop neighborhood, Robinson Park combines recreational space and natural beauty that residents of all ages enjoy.
Throughout the seasons, neighbors gather for picnics, community events, or reading under the shade of a tree. Its convenient location provides a nice green space within the city.
Simple Pleasures
Sometimes it's the basic amenities that make a park work, and Robinson doesn't disappoint. You can find benches placed at just the right spots for taking a breather or watching the kids play.
The park's grass, mature shade trees, and planted shrubs make it a nice spot for walking dogs or enjoying some quiet time outdoors.
