Blue Star Memorial Park

A Quiet Tribute to Service

The Blue Star Memorial Highways program dedicated this roadside haven as a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who've served in our armed forces. Small but purposeful, Blue Star Memorial Park sits at the crest of West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado.

Behind this meaningful space is the National Garden Clubs, who've made it their mission to honor U.S. military service members across the country. You'll discover a memorial plaque prominently displayed here - a permanent reminder of the sacrifices made by so many.

Take in the View

One of the park's simple treasures is its overlook offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Front Range mountains. On clear days, the vista alone is worth the stop. Small picnic shelters with grills dot the grounds, great for enjoying a homemade lunch while soaking in Colorado's natural beauty.

Natural Surroundings

The park's designers thoughtfully incorporated native plants throughout the landscape, creating a space that feels authentically Coloradan. These indigenous plantings not only look beautiful but strengthen the park's connection to its local environment.

Thanks to its convenient location along West Colfax Avenue, this modest memorial park is easily accessible whether you're a Lakewood local or just passing through on your Colorado journey.
