Northeast Coachman Park
About Northeast Coachman Park
Disc Golf Paradise
Located in Clearwater, Florida, Northeast Coachman Park spans 15.4 acres and offers several activities for outdoor enthusiasts. The main feature is an 18-hole disc golf course that's popular among disc golf players of all skill levels.
The course offers a satisfying mix of technical short holes where precision is key, alongside longer fairways that'll test your arm strength and accuracy. Many locals consider this one of the better spots to play disc golf in the Clearwater area.
Natural Features & Course Layout
One of the first things you'll notice is the generous shade provided by mature trees, including some gorgeous weeping pin oaks that create a natural canopy overhead. The shade provides a welcome break from the Florida sunshine, making this a more comfortable spot year-round.
As you navigate the course, you can find yourself wandering along scenic walking paths that connect the holes through wooded areas. There are a few water hazards to keep things interesting, but they're typically shallow enough that your disc won't vanish forever if you make a less-than-perfect throw. Just a heads-up though - after heavy rains, the back portion of the course can get a bit soggy.
Amenities & Facilities
Around the park, you'll find benches and picnic tables nestled in shady spots - fantastic for catching your breath between holes or simply soaking in the natural surroundings.
A slight downside worth mentioning: the restroom situation is limited to portable toilets only. Not ideal, but it's a small compromise for an otherwise great park experience.
Visitor Information
If it's your first time visiting, you might want to buddy up with a regular or download a course map beforehand. There's no master map displayed in the park, which can make finding your way between all 18 holes a bit of an adventure in itself.
Good news for dog owners - the park is dog-friendly, so your furry friend can tag along while you play a round or take a leisurely stroll through the grounds.
Community Hub
Beyond just being a place to play, Northeast Coachman Park has evolved into a community gathering spot. Local disc golf enthusiasts often organize events here, drawing players from casual weekenders to serious competitors.
Just keep in mind that parking can get tight during these special events. Also worth noting - once the sun sets, the park becomes surprisingly dark due to minimal lighting and those lovely but light-blocking trees. Plan your visit accordingly!
