Deerwood Rotary Children's Park was dedicated to the City of Jacksonville on April 20, 2001. The park emerged from a collaborative effort between the Deerwood Rotary Club, the City of Jacksonville, and private developers.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony held on September 28, 2001 marked the official opening of the park to the public. Since then, it has served as a popular destination for families in the Southside area of Jacksonville.
Inclusive Design
This park was specifically designed with the purpose of providing equal access for handicapped and disabled children, making it a unique and inclusive space in the community. The Deerwood Rotary Club played a significant role in conceptualizing the park and provided partial funding for its development.
