About the Location

A Brief History

Found in the northwest Jacksonville neighborhood of East Grand Park, Raymond E. Davis Park has been serving the community since the early 2000s. It all started in 2001 when the Jacksonville Electric Authority generously donated the western portion of the property to the City to create a green space for local residents.

Originally called Spires Street Park when it opened around 2002-2003, the park was renamed in 2004 to honor Reverend Raymond E. Davis, a treasured local pastor who dedicated himself to serving the community and its youth.

Community Roots

The park didn't just appear overnight - it came to life through the determination of local residents. City Councilman Reggie Fullwood spearheaded these efforts, working alongside community members who wanted to create a safe outdoor space where neighborhood kids could play and families could gather.

Sitting in the East Grand Park neighborhood, which dates back to 1907, this park has added a fresh dimension to an area with deep historical roots, enhancing quality of life for everyone who calls this corner of Jacksonville home.

What You'll Find

Spanning about 2 acres, this modest but mighty park offers a great balance of active and passive recreation options. It's a welcome patch of green in the urban landscape, giving locals a place to stretch their legs and enjoy the outdoors without traveling far from home.

Perfect for Families

If you're looking for a peaceful spot to spend an afternoon with the kids, you'll appreciate what Raymond E. Davis Park has to offer. The playground is a highlight where little ones can burn off energy and make friends with other neighborhood children.

The park offers a tranquil atmosphere - a little oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The grounds are well-kept, making it a pleasant place to visit whether you're chasing after active kiddos or simply looking for a quiet bench to enjoy some fresh air.
