Playground Paradise

The playground at Handley Park got a sweet upgrade in November 2020, and it's now sporting some pretty awesome equipment for the little ones. There's a variety of swings - infant swings for the babies, regular swings for older kids, and accessible swings for children with disabilities. Kids seem to gravitate toward the slides and the collection of spinning and rocking equipment - nothing beats that dizzy, giggly fun!

Room to Roam

Need some space to spread out? The park offers a generous grassy field that's fantastic for whatever moves you. Toss around a football, kick a soccer ball, fling a frisbee, or just let the kids burn off that endless energy. The wide-open area provides plenty of space to enjoy the Florida sunshine. It's also an ideal spot to bring your four-legged friend or gather the family for some active outdoor time.

When hunger strikes, you'll find several shaded picnic tables scattered across the park. There's even a small grill available if you're in the mood for some outdoor cooking. You'll find water fountains available to quench your thirst after all that playing. One thing to note: there aren't any public restrooms at Handley Park, so plan your visit accordingly. Parking is limited to street spaces along the park fence, with no dedicated lot available - something to keep in mind if you're visiting during busy times.

Situated in a residential area, Handley Park is a lovely outdoor retreat for nearby residents. It typically maintains a peaceful vibe and rarely gets overcrowded, making it a nice escape when you need some green space. The grounds are well-kept with freshly mowed grass and clean facilities - always a plus for a local park.

Safety Notes

If you're bringing young children, keep in mind there's open access on the south side where the park borders busy Edgewood Drive. The fence doesn't completely connect at the corners in this area, so you'll want to keep a close eye on adventurous little ones. With proper supervision, though, this friendly neighborhood park offers a pleasant outdoor experience for all ages.
