About the Location
Where the Ocean Meets Miami Beach
Nestled at the southern tip of Miami Beach, South Pointe Park spreads across 17 acres of urban paradise. The park offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, Government Cut, Fisher Island, and the Miami skyline. If you're a sunset chaser, this is a great spot - the park has some of the most impressive evening skies in the city. One of the coolest experiences is watching massive cruise ships glide by as they leave the Port of Miami, passing surprisingly close to where you're standing.

A Park with History
First opened in 1985, South Pointe got a major facelift in 2009, transforming it into the gorgeous green space we see today. The park features winding paths surrounded by native Florida plants, plenty of grassy spots for lounging, and easy access to the beach. The crown jewel has to be the 450-foot long pier stretching into the ocean - meant for fishing or just gazing out at the endless blue horizon.
The design incorporates unique "cut walks" lined with Florida limestone that guide you through the space, while an art deco-inspired tower stands as a beautiful landmark. The designers also thought about sustainability, incorporating dune restoration and clever stormwater management systems within the park.

Something for Everyone
South Pointe Park offers activities for all ages. Kids love the themed playground and the interactive splash pad where they can cool off on hot Miami days (and let's face it, that's most days). Parents appreciate that clean restrooms are just steps away.
Fitness buffs can take advantage of well-maintained walking and jogging paths, while yogis often claim spots on the grass for their practice. The paved trails are ideal for biking and rollerblading too. For those with four-legged friends, there's a designated off-leash area where your pup can run free.
Spread a blanket under the swaying palm trees for a great picnic spot, or just lie back and people-watch. If you happen to visit on Wednesdays or Sundays, you might catch impromptu performances by local acrobats and entertainers who add a touch of spontaneous fun.

Beach Bliss
Want to feel sand between your toes? The park offers direct access to a gorgeous beach with crystal-clear waters and powdery white sand. What's nice about this stretch of beach is that it's typically less crowded than the rest of South Beach. After your swim, convenient outdoor showers make it easy to rinse off before heading back to explore more of the park.

The South Pointe Experience
Loved by locals and tourists alike, South Pointe Park strikes that perfect balance between activity and relaxation. Its location at the southernmost tip of South Beach creates a peaceful retreat from Miami's energetic pace, all while showcasing that famous Miami skyline in the distance.
The park is clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment for morning walks, sunset gazing, or simply sitting by the water. Fair warning: parking can be a bit challenging during busy times, but once you're there, you'll understand why so many make the effort.
