Located in Miramar, Florida, River Run Park spreads across 8.17 acres of public green space that offers a little something for everyone. If you're into sports, you'll find a tennis court and racquetball court ready for your next match. For those of us trying to stay fit without a gym membership, there's outdoor exercise equipment strategically placed along the walking path - meant for an impromptu circuit training session while enjoying some fresh air.

Trails and Natural Beauty

The park's walking trail isn't marathon-length by any means, but it provides a lovely route for your morning jog or afternoon stroll. Sometimes it's just nice to put one foot in front of the other without any particular destination in mind.

One of our favorite spots has to be the waterfront area complete with a fishing pier. The lake views are genuinely calming, and if you're patient, you might reel in some bass or tilapia. On hot Florida days, the water creates a natural cooling effect that's absolutely heaven-sent.

Keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife - ducks paddle around regularly, and if you're lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you feel about reptiles), you might spot iguanas sunbathing by the water. The mature trees scattered throughout provide welcome patches of shade, especially appreciated during summer months.

Family-Friendly Features

Got kiddos? The covered playground sits right in the middle of the park, making it easy to keep an eye on the little ones while they swing and climb. The shade covering is a thoughtful touch that parents will appreciate during Florida's sunnier days.

Planning a get-together? The park offers three pavilions available for rental. These make great spots for birthday celebrations, family reunions, or just a weekend cookout with friends. Having that dedicated space with shelter can really transform a casual gathering into something special.

You'll come across clean restrooms across the grounds - always a plus for any outdoor space. There's also no shortage of benches where you can take a breather, people-watch, or simply enjoy the scenery.

River Run Park provides a peaceful retreat from Miramar's urban bustle, offering a space where you can reconnect with nature and your community. It tends to buzz with energy on weekend mornings when locals come out for their exercise routines, creating a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere.

Visitor Information

The park welcomes visitors daily from 7AM to 7PM with a modest entrance fee of $1.50 per person for anyone 6 and older. Note that your furry friends will need to stay home, as dogs aren't allowed within the park grounds.
