Park Overview

Tucked away in Orlando, Florida, Clear Lake Park spans 33 acres of public green space along the shores of its namesake lake. It provides a peaceful retreat from city life while still being conveniently located within Orlando's boundaries.

The park was created to both preserve the area's natural beauty and provide a recreational haven for locals and tourists. What makes Clear Lake Park special is its calm atmosphere - it's an excellent spot to disconnect and spend some quality time surrounded by nature.

Landscape and Trails

Clear Lake Park blends open meadows with wooded sections, creating a diverse landscape that accommodates all sorts of outdoor activities.

A paved walking trail meanders through the park, with nice views of Clear Lake and the surrounding greenery. At 0.8 miles, it's not too long and not too short - just right for a leisurely stroll, morning jog, or evening walk. You can find plenty of benches along the way when you need a moment to sit back and take in the scenery.

On hot Florida days, the abundance of mature trees provides natural shade across the park - even the parking areas stay relatively cool under the tree cover.

Fishing Opportunities

The fishing dock extends into Clear Lake, providing a good platform for casting your line and trying your luck in the water.

The lake is home to several fish species, including largemouth bass and bluegill. We've found that fishing tends to be better after 5:30 PM when the fish seem more active.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Kids have plenty of space to burn energy with three separate playground areas designed for different age groups. Each playground features age-appropriate equipment, so both toddlers and older children can find something fun and safe to enjoy.

What makes this park unique is its music station where kids can experiment with creating different sounds, plus a courtyard with painted activities on the concrete that encourage interactive play.

Parents can relax in the shade while keeping an eye on their little ones, as the play areas are thoughtfully surrounded by shaded sections.

Exercise and Recreation

Beyond the walking trail, fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of exercise stations scattered across the park. These stations offer a chance to mix up your workout routine with some strength training in the fresh air.

The park also features open fields that are excellent for a casual game of frisbee, soccer, or whatever sport strikes your fancy.

Picnic Facilities

Planning a lunch outdoors? Clear Lake Park offers several picnic areas complete with tables and benches. Some spots are covered by gazebos, giving you protection from sudden rain showers or the intense Florida sun.

These areas work wonderfully for family get-togethers, birthday celebrations, or just a simple lunch break away from the office. Some picnic zones even include grills, so you can cook up something tasty while enjoying the park's natural beauty.

Natural Environment

The park's lush landscape features numerous mature trees that create cool, shaded areas across the grounds.

The thoughtful landscaping incorporates native Florida plants, supporting the local ecosystem and providing homes for various birds and small wildlife.

Keep your eyes peeled for small creatures like snails and various bird species that call the park home. Just a heads-up though - watch where you step, as red ants have been spotted in some areas of the park.

Facilities

You'll discover a drinking fountain in the park to help you stay hydrated during your visit.

Restroom facilities are available, however they sometimes experience maintenance issues. It's a good idea to bring some hand sanitizer along just in case.
