About Boulevard Crossing Park

A Verdant Oasis in Southeast Atlanta

Tucked away at the intersection of Boulevard and Englewood Avenue, Boulevard Crossing Park spans 25 acres of green goodness in southeast Atlanta. This park is part of the Atlanta BeltLine initiative, which transforms old railway corridors into a connected network of parks, trails, and transit options throughout the city.

The park has been coming to life in stages since 2011, when the first phase wrapped up with the creation of two multi-use activity fields covering about five acres. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is this park!

Dramatic Terrain

One thing you'll notice right away is the park's striking topography. With over 100 feet of elevation change across the site, this isn't your typical flat park. The designers have embraced these natural contours, working them into the layout to create a sense of adventure and discovery as you explore.

There's some smart environmental thinking happening here too. The design incorporates features to capture, store, and clean stormwater - though heads up, the lower field can get a bit soggy after heavy rains.

Get Your Game On

At the heart of Boulevard Crossing Park are two soccer fields, each neatly enclosed with fencing. These versatile spaces aren't just for soccer though - they're fantastic for all kinds of activities and organized sports. Local leagues frequently claim these fields for practices and games, filling the park with energy and friendly competition.

The open, airy feel of the park makes it a natural draw for casual recreation too. Dog owners particularly appreciate the spacious grounds, but remember your four-legged friends need to stay on a leash here.

Take a Break

Need a moment to catch your breath? The park features two separate picnic pavilions - one conveniently located near each field - offering comfortable seating and welcome shade on sunny days. Trash cans are scattered throughout, making it easy to keep the space clean and beautiful for everyone.

Parking is available along the street, but it can fill up quickly during popular times or when sports events are happening. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 11PM.

Note that there are no permanent restroom facilities here. Portable toilets sometimes appear when leagues host events, but it's good to plan ahead for your visit.

A Community Treasure

Boulevard Crossing Park provides green space in an area of Atlanta that historically hasn't had many such resources. It offers both peaceful relaxation and active recreation opportunities for people of all ages.

Looking Ahead

Exciting developments are on the horizon for Boulevard Crossing Park, with plans for additional recreational spaces and amenities in the works. As the Atlanta BeltLine project continues to unfold, the park will eventually connect directly to the future Southside Trail, making it even more accessible and integrated into Atlanta's growing network of green spaces.
