Kawaikui Beach Park

Kawaikui Beach Park is located on the eastern coast of Oahu, Hawaii, between Kahala and Hawaii Kai. The park features a narrow beach with light brown sand and some pebbly areas. Offshore, there is a shallow reef that creates calm waters near the shore.

The park has a large grassy area shaded by palm trees and other vegetation, providing ample space for picnics and relaxation. Visitors can enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean and Koko Head in the distance. The beach itself is not ideal for swimming due to the shallow, rocky nearshore waters, but it serves as an access point for surfers heading to offshore breaks known as Manantan's, Tunas, and Turtles.

Kawaikui Beach Park is popular among locals for picnicking, fishing, and paddleboarding. The park tends to be less crowded than more famous Oahu beaches, offering a quieter atmosphere. However, parking is limited, which can make access challenging during busy times.

While the water may not be suitable for swimming, the park provides a pleasant setting for beachcombing, relaxing, and enjoying ocean views. Visitors should be aware that the nearshore area can have a slightly fishy odor at times due to the shallow waters and reef.
