About the Location
Water Activities
The 72-acre urban park features a protected lagoon with calm waters that make it ideal for canoeing, kayaking and other water activities. Many local canoe clubs use the lagoon for practice sessions, and outrigger canoe regattas are held here periodically.
While the park has a man-made beach, it is not suitable for swimming or other water activities beyond boating.
Recreation Facilities
The park offers expansive grassy areas with sports fields for soccer, baseball, softball and cricket. There are also tennis courts available for public use.
A large pavilion and restroom facilities are available for visitors. The park is a popular spot for family gatherings and picnics, with ample space for barbecues.
Community Use
On weekends, the park often hosts community events and gatherings. Despite its urban location near major roadways and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Keʻehi Lagoon Beach Park offers pleasant views of neighboring Sand Island and the Honolulu cityscape.
Natural Features
Visitors can observe planes taking off and landing at the nearby airport. Within the lagoon are several small islands, including Mokauea Island, which is the site of Oahu's last remaining Hawaiian fishing village.
