McAuley Park

Location and Size

At a quarter-acre, McAuley Park might be one of the tiniest parks in Boise's system, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in tranquility. It sits at the intersection of Harrison Boulevard and Resseguie Street in Boise's North End neighborhood, a quiet pocket of greenery in the city.

Natural Features

Tall, mature trees cast dappled shade throughout this mini oasis, creating a cool retreat during Idaho's warmer months. The park's scattered benches invite you to take a load off, maybe pull out a book, or simply watch the world go by in this peaceful corner of the North End.

Purpose and Character

McAuley Park isn't trying to be everything to everyone - and that's part of its appeal. This quiet green space offers a moment of calm along the historic Harrison Boulevard with its beautiful heritage homes and tree-lined sidewalks.

Don't come expecting playground equipment or sports facilities; this little park shines as a spot for contemplation rather than recreation. It's an ideal place to catch your breath during a neighborhood stroll or enjoy a few minutes of serenity during a busy day.

Community Events

Despite its modest footprint, McAuley Park occasionally transforms into a community hub. The park sometimes is a gathering point for neighborhood get-togethers, including the Harrison Boulevard Kids Fun Run, showing that even the smallest spaces can bring people together in meaningful ways.

Park Rules

One thing to note if you're planning a visit: McAuley Park is designated as an alcohol-free zone. This means beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages aren't permitted within the park boundaries - a common rule in many of Boise's smaller green spaces.
