Positioned in Boise, Idaho, Ivywild Park spreads across 18 acres of community-friendly green space. This local favorite offers something for just about everyone looking to enjoy some outdoor time.

A major feature of the park is the Ivywild Pool. The main pool features pretzel and drop-off slides that are popular during summer months. Families with little ones will appreciate the separate wading pool designed specifically for children 6 and under. And don't worry about safety - the pool area is well-staffed with attentive lifeguards keeping watch.

Swimming Pool Features

Water enthusiasts can choose from three different water slides, each requiring a climb up steps to reach varying heights. Just a heads-up: kids need to pass a swim test before tackling the larger slides. The little ones aren't left out though - the wading pool comes with smaller slides perfectly sized for younger adventurers.

You can find lounge chairs scattered around for relaxing between dips, though they can be scarce during peak times. Feeling hungry? There's a small snack bar serving up treats like snow cones and hot dogs. You're also welcome to bring your own refreshments to enjoy on the grassy areas. The pool operates in sessions throughout the day with brief breaks for cleaning.

Sports and Activities

For those who prefer to stay dry, the park doesn't disappoint. Tennis enthusiasts will appreciate the tennis courts that remain in great shape without those annoying cracks that can ruin a good rally.

Kids aged 2-12 can explore a unique playground featuring cool elements like periscopes and various climbing structures. What makes this play area especially nice is the dappled shade from mature trees overhead, keeping things comfortable even when the sun is strong.

Sports teams regularly make use of the park's softball fields, while the soccer practice fields provide plenty of open space for drills and scrimmages.

A gentle walking path meanders through the grounds, well-suited for a leisurely stroll or a brisk walk. You'll often spot locals walking their dogs or getting their daily exercise along this route.

One of the park's natural highlights is its collection of beautiful mature trees that cast welcome shade throughout. The well-kept grassy areas make ideal spots to spread out a blanket for picnicking, tossing a frisbee, or simply lounging with a good book.

New Additions

2023 brought an exciting addition to Ivywild Park - a fresh skate spot nestled between the pool and softball field. Designed by Grindline Skateparks, this area features rails, curbs, a hip, and a quarter pipe that cater to skateboarders, bikers, and rollerbladers whether you're just starting out or have been riding for years.

Amenities

The park comes equipped with thoughtful amenities that make longer visits comfortable. Need space for a gathering? The reservable picnic shelter offers plenty of seating and has become a popular spot for family reunions and community events.

Clean restroom facilities serve double duty as changing rooms for the pool, with separate sections for males and females. You won't have trouble finding a place to park either, with both on-site and street parking readily available.

Ivywild Park is open daily from 6AM to 9PM, providing a green space where Boise residents and visitors can enjoy nature throughout the year.
