Settlers Park
About Settlers Park
An Oasis of Play and Recreation
Nestled at the intersection of Meridian and Ustick Roads in Meridian, Idaho, Settlers Park spreads across 58 acres of green goodness. Developed gradually between 2003 and 2014, this spacious park has become a go-to spot for locals looking to get their dose of outdoor fun.
Sports Galore
If you're athletically inclined, you're in for a treat. There are six multi-use fields that you can reserve for your weekend game, plus eight youth baseball/softball fields where young players practice their skills. Tennis players can claim one of seven tennis courts, while the growing pickleball community has their own dedicated pickleball courts to enjoy.
Not feeling quite so competitive? The park's horseshoe pits and cornhole courts offer a more laid-back option for some friendly competition. And if throwing discs is more your style, a seasonal 9-hole disc golf course awaits your best shots during warmer months.
Adventure Island: A Kid's Paradise
The crown jewel for families has to be the Adventure Island Playground Area, home to Idaho's first universally accessible playground. This isn't your average swing set - it features elaborate climbing structures, twisty slides, challenging bridges, and play equipment designed for both the little ones and older children.
Kids with a musical bent can bang away at the outdoor xylophones and drums in the playground's music section. For the climbers in your crew, large artificial climbing rocks provide a safe way to reach new heights.
When summer temperatures climb, the pirate-themed splash pad is particularly popular. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, it's a wonderful place to beat the Idaho heat.
More to Explore
Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the stocked fishing pond, which doubles as a duck-watching spot - making it well-suited for introducing kids to the patience of fishing. Across the park, you'll come across extensive open areas for impromptu games and a network of paved paths ideal for your morning jog or evening stroll.
Planning a gathering? Three picnic shelters of different sizes can be reserved for your next family reunion or birthday celebration. If you're just looking for a casual lunch spot, numerous picnic tables are scattered around the grounds, many thoughtfully placed in shaded areas. And yes, clean restroom facilities are conveniently located throughout - always a plus when spending the day outdoors.
The Heart of Community Life
Settlers Park is active year-round. Summer Friday nights feature movies in the park, while various festivals and concerts are scheduled throughout the year, making it a popular gathering place for Meridian residents.
During busy periods and special events, a concession stand opens up, offering refreshing snow cones and summer snacks. With two ample parking lots available, getting in and out is relatively easy when planning a day of outdoor recreation.
