Osborne Park
About Osborne Park
A Treasured Neighborhood Spot
Located near the intersection of Greenhurst Road and Royal Meadows in southwest Nampa, Idaho, Osborne Park is an 11-acre site that opened in 2006. Named after Hubert Osborne - a local resident who advocated for its creation - this park offers a mix of recreational activities and natural spaces. Located within a residential area, it's conveniently accessible for nearby families.
Take a Stroll
The park's paved walking trail offers a neat half-mile loop that's meant for clearing your head or getting in some light exercise. It's actually part of the broader Elijah Pathway network, which will expand as more homes pop up nearby. As you walk, you'll follow alongside a gentle stream where ducks often paddle about, adding a touch of serenity to your stroll. If you're bringing your four-legged friend along, you'll appreciate the thoughtfully placed pet waste stations with bag dispensers and trash cans along the route.
Play Your Heart Out
The star attraction for many visitors is the 9-hole disc golf course added in 2009. It's no beginner's course - local disc golf enthusiasts consider it one of the more technically challenging layouts in the valley, complete with water hazards that might claim your disc if you're not careful. The course runs from holes 1 through 9, but finding basket 7 might require a bit of exploration your first time around.
Beyond disc golf, you can find plenty of open space to run around, a picturesque pond, and a playground that keeps kids entertained with equipment for various age groups. The playground offers swings and climbing structures that provide tons of active play possibilities, however it's worth noting that some of the equipment is a bit tall for the tiniest adventurers.
Gather and Relax
A welcoming picnic shelter makes this spot ideal for family gatherings or casual meetups, with additional tables dotted within the grounds. The BBQ area lets you cook up something tasty, while a horseshoe pit offers some old-school fun. The expansive grassy areas give you plenty of room to throw a frisbee, kick a ball around, or simply spread out a blanket and relax.
One thing to keep in mind: there are no public restrooms or drinking fountains available, so you might want to plan accordingly. Despite this minor limitation, the clean, well-kept grounds and variety of activities make Osborne Park a versatile space where you can engage in active recreation or simply enjoy a moment of quiet reflection in nature.
