West Park, located in Nampa, Idaho, is a spacious 44-acre community park that balances recreational activities with ample open spaces for relaxation. Established in 1974, the park was funded by a Land and Water Conservation grant, and since then, it has become a focal point for both residents and visitors.
The park is home to Nampa's first softball complex, built in 1977, featuring four softball fields. These fields cater to a variety of leagues, including adult city softball, high school games, and youth leagues. The fields are topped with a pumice mixture to provide excellent playing surfaces. Beyond softball, the park offers a variety of sports facilities, including a sand volleyball court, an outdoor basketball court, and horseshoe pits, ensuring plenty of opportunities for team and individual activities.
West Park also boasts a large, inclusive playground designed for children of all abilities, encouraging accessibility and fun for everyone. For enthusiasts of disc golf, a 9-hole course added in 2008 serves as a year-round attraction. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a fitness path that weaves through the park, supporting a healthy, active lifestyle. The park's open spaces and picnic areas, including two covered picnic shelters with water and power, make it an ideal spot for gatherings and leisurely outings.
