About the Location
Park History
Originally farmland owned by Edward and Laura Sprague Simons, the property was purchased in 1920 by the Northwest Park District to establish a public park. By 1928, a fieldhouse designed by Walter W. Ahlschlager had been constructed, completing the park's initial development. The fieldhouse underwent remodeling in 1990 and further renovations in the early 2000s.
Location and Accessibility
Simons Park is located in the Humboldt Park community of Chicago's West Side. Its location, midway between Kedzie and Pulaski Avenues and just one-half block north of North Avenue, makes it easily accessible to residents of the area.
Administered by the Chicago Park District, this park spans several acres and serves as a vital recreational space for the surrounding neighborhood.
