Playground and Accessibility

Located in the northern edge of the park, you'll find a nice-sized playground split into two distinct areas - one crafted for younger children and another designed with older kids in mind. The playground surface uses engineered wood fiber (basically fancy wood chips), making it easier for everyone to enjoy, regardless of mobility needs.

Both play sections are equipped with modern equipment - slides for zooming down, climbing structures for adventurous types, and monkey bars for hanging around. What's really nice is the generous tree coverage providing plenty of shade - a true blessing when the sun is beating down.

Water Features

Nestled between the two playground areas is a cool spray feature that's fantastic for those hot Chicago summer days. The recently updated water zone includes the whimsically named "Loch Ness Mister" and several misting poles that are always a hit with the kids.

Park Amenities

You'll spot wooden benches within the park, especially near the play areas, offering perfect spots to catch your breath while keeping an eye on the little ones. There's also a drinking fountain available when the park building is open.

One of the nicest things about this park is its peaceful atmosphere - it's just quiet enough to let children freely run and play without the overwhelming crowds of larger parks.

Facilities and Layout

For those necessary breaks, the park includes a building with restroom facilities. The way the park is laid out gives you plenty of open space for whatever outdoor activities you might have in mind, making it a versatile green retreat in the West Elsdon neighborhood.
