What's Coming

Tucked into the northwest corner of Carmel, Indiana sits the future home of Bear Creek Park. This nearly 27-acre plot at the southwest corner of 146th Street and Shelborne Road was scooped up by Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation back in 2020, however it's still mostly a blank canvas waiting for its transformation.

Designed to serve Carmel's growing northwest neighborhoods, Bear Creek Park has been in the planning pipeline for several years. For now, the area remains largely closed to the public while development plans take shape.

The Vision

After gathering community input throughout 2021 and early 2022, the park's master plan was officially adopted by the Carmel/Clay Board of Parks and Recreation on June 14, 2022.

This blueprint will guide how the park evolves, incorporating what local residents have said they want and need in this new green space.

Current Status

You won't be able to visit Bear Creek Park just yet, as it remains closed during this development phase. The master plan is approved, but the actual creation of park features is still in progress.

Natural Highlights

Even in its undeveloped state, the property features lovely prairie grasses and a meandering creek that gives the park its name.

Once complete, Bear Creek Park is expected to offer a range of outdoor experiences and recreational opportunities for both Carmel residents and visitors looking to enjoy this new addition to the city's park system.
